Let Property Campaign – What you need to know in 2021!

At Marslands Accountants we specialise in the Let Property Campaign and every year there are changes to the Let Property Campaign and 2021 is no different. As of April 2021 you can now include the 19/20 self-assessment tax return! That means if you’ve decided you want to come clean on the Let Property Campaign that you can do that up to and including 19/20 tax returns up to the 5th of April 2020.

You can go back up to 20 years and using the Let Property Campaign is so much easier than having to do a full tax return every year. This gives people the whole of 2021 to go and get this done.

HMRC will find everybody in the end. Letting agents have to declare a list of their landlords every year. Airbnb give a list of all of their customers every year to HMRC. All these people give out information to HMRC. Whether it’s directly or indirectly. If you haven’t declared your rental property yet, please do it now, they will find you in the end.

The Let Property Campaign is a specialist division so they know what they’re talking about, they’ll help you as well. At Marslands Accountants we specialise in the Let Property Campaign and we’ve helped lots of landlords save thousands, sometimes tens of thousands of pounds by helping them do their Let Property Campaign disclosure.

Once you’ve got your backdated Let Property Campaign period done for all of your rental income and it’s been submitted to the Let Property Campaign division you’ll be on track! You’ll be actually doing it on a regular basis, you’ll have your tax return sent out every year from HMRC. You’ll have a tax account so you’ll know what you’re doing every year going forward, you’ll be paying your tax as you go as well so you won’t have to worry about this anymore. We can help save you thousands and will guide you through the whole process.
